Counseling is so much more than talking to someone who listens. Counseling is a place where individuals can learn more about themselves, learn how to cope with difficult situations, learn how to communicate with others, and many times, it is a place to mentally and emotionally heal. We all experience difficulties in life, but we do not have to struggle alone.

I believe counseling is unique to each individual and building a therapeutic relationship between you and your counselor plays a major role in ensuring that you receive the help that you need. My counseling style varies based on your needs. Some days we may be focusing on CBT(Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) skills and techniques, some days we may be utilizing a Problem-Solution approach, and some days we may use Narrative Therapy techniques. When I work with children, we incorporate many play and art techniques in each session. I have many years of experience working with children through the field of education, which has provided me with the knowledge of working hands on with behavior and academic concerns with both children and their families.
