Lauren Pomeroy, LPC, NCC

I believe that healing and growth happens through connections. I take the time to build a therapeutic relationship and ensure trust is established with each client. I approach the whole person and provide tools and skills for clients to improve all areas of their life. I recognize that each person has their own unique needs, therefore my goal is to provide a nonjudgmental, safe space and to empower clients to take an active role in the counseling process. I use a variety of techniques including CBT, art, play, mindfulness, and trauma-informed approaches.
I graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology. I received my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Virginia Tech. I have 9 years of experience working in a variety of mental health settings.
In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with my dog, family, and friends.
